How we make money

Plain language on who pays us, what that does not change, and how links are marked.

We may earn a commission if you open an account through links on this page. This does not affect our rankings.

New Bank Account is an independent comparison site. We may earn a commission from some providers when a reader opens an account through a link on our site. Links that can earn us money are marked as sponsored in the page code and go through a /go/ link.

Right now, every link to a provider on this site is a plain link that does not earn us anything. If that changes, this page and the disclosure on each page will say so.

Commissions never change which accounts we include, the order we list them in, or how we describe them. Facts come only from the provider's own site, as explained in our methodology.

Some links may earn us a commission. Commissions do not affect which accounts we list or how we describe them.

Who pays us

A bank or fintech may pay us a commission if you open an account through a link on this site. Readers do not pay us to use the site. If a link does not earn a commission, it still goes through /go/ so every provider link is marked the same way in the page code.

What does not change

A commission does not buy a place on a list, a higher spot, or kinder wording. We do not publish scores or star ratings. An account is listed when it belongs in a comparison, and a fee, rate, or bonus appears only after we copy it from the provider's own page.

How links are marked

Provider links use rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", open in a new tab, and pass through a /go/ address for that account. The disclosure sentence above sits above the first of those links on any page that has one. The full wording is also on our affiliate disclosure.
